Alex is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a registered Tax Agent. He graduated from the University of New South Wales – major Accounting and Finance Systems.

He is a Non – Executive Chairman of Grosvenor Engineering Group, Chairman of Franchise Advisory Group Pizza Capers and past non executive Director of Bank of Cyprus Australia.

Alex is the Founder of Rothsay Chartered Accountants.

He attempted to create a firm that is characterised by commitment, strong ethics and the pursuit of excellence in our dealings with all stakeholders. His role as a Senior Partner is formulating strategic direction of the firm, and working with clients in the strategic management of their business and financial affairs

Migrated from Greece to Australia in the early 70’s, initially in Melbourne, then in Adelaide and finally in Sydney, where he currently resides.

In Australia he had various employment tasks, working mainly for the Ministry of Finance/Tax Office and teaching Greek language in afternoon and Saturday schools and other private enterprises.

In the beginning of 1980s he was employed with Olympic Airways, where since 1996 and more than a decade he was head of the General Management of Olympic Airways and Olympic Airlines for Australia and New Zealand.

He has maintained a strong link in the Greek community especially in NSW, through various positions in Associations and Organisation Committees of the: Greek Orthodox Community of NSW, Euboian Association of NSW, Greek Afternoon Teachers Association of NSW, Federation of the Greek Orthodox Communities in Australia , Plant Your Roots/a tree in Greece Inc, Hellenic Emergency Relief Fund Inc. and many other community based organisations where he offered his services, contributing in resolving Greek community issues and in the maintenance of Greek language and cultural heritage.

As a SAE Coordinator for Oceania & Far East Region elected in 2006 and 2014 he has the responsibility of coordinating hundreds federations and associations in Oceania and keeping “ The World Council of Hellenes Abroad Oceania and Far East Region (SAE)” within reach of the Greek Community to service their various cultural, social and other needs in relation to their background.

He was appointed to the Board of the Modern Greek Studies Foundation as the Secretary since the establishment of the Foundation in 2009.

Professor Vrasidas Karalis

Vrasidas Karalis works in the area of Greek Cultural Studies since the Byzantine and Modern periods. He has published extensively with special emphasis on Byzatine historiography, Modern Greek political life, Greek Cinema, Balkan culture, European Union and Greece.

He has also worked extensively as a translator (Novels by Patrick White) and the theory of the trans-cultural translation. He has also worked on modern European political philosophy, Martin Heidegger, Hannah Arendt, Cornelius Castoriadis.

Peter Doukas has been Chair of the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW since 2013. Before being elected Chair he served as secretary for two terms and was in that role while the organisation undertook the largest change to its constitution since its incorporation.

He has worked in the Greek community for over ten years as a member of the Board of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW and serving as President of the Sydney University Greek Society (SUGS) and the National Union of Greek Australian Students (NUGAS). Peter is the Managing Partner of law firm Denison Toyer based in Sydney.

Theodora Minas Gianniotis, completed BA Major in Classical Civilisations, Dip Law, University of Sydney and a Diplomas of Museum Studies, Deakin University. Her interests lie in Cultural Heritage and its interpretation.

In 2007 she Co-ordinated at Sydney University the Parthenon Project and in 2013 she was the Public Programmer for the Alexander the Great Exhibition, Australian Museum. She also works as a cultural consultant on many other projects for private and public institutions.

Mr Con Paipetis was born in Apfilochia Greece and migrated to Australia early 1970’s. For most of the time in his career he has been self-employed and maintained a strong link with the Greek Community in Sydney, where he resides. As a young man he offered his services to the community as a dancer with the « Hellenic Leceum Sydney/Lykion ton Ellinidon» and later continued his volunteering services to the Community through various positions in Hellenic Organizations such as:

Chris Lepouris

Chris Lepouris was born in Keratea, Greece. The youngest of 8 children he moved to Sydney Australia at the age of 16.

Since his arrival he has been an active and vocal member of the Greek community with continuous service in a number of different roles, committees and associations, including:

Treasurer/Secretary/Vice President of the Hellenic Chamber of commerce 1970-1990
Treasurer of the Athenian Association 1975-2000
President for the Saint Michaels church committee (Crows Nest)
Founding member of the George Thomas University Foundation
Honorary member of the 6th division armed forces

Chris Lepouris has successfully owned and managed his own businesses for over 40 years both in the Travel and Real Estate sectors.

He is a Justice of the Peace and has been recognized and awarded a number of times by the Greek Orthodox Church and Greek community for his contributions and efforts in an array of different initiatives.

He is currently the Managing Director of Premium Holidays in Dulwich Hill his office has been a consistent contributor to the “Hellenic Diaspora” for a number of years.

Mr Minas is the President of the Pan-Thessalian Federation of NSW and has een for the last 40 years. He is instrumental in all matters concerning the Hellenic community both in NSW and Australia.

As president of the pan-Thessalian he has co-ordinated major fundraising initiatives for the Blind Society, Thaelassemia Society, Greek Nursing Homes and more recently major fundraisers for the Modern Greek Department, Sydney University
